Welcome ! Please tell us about yourself
Welcome to "Good Changes" - the Blog supporting our class as we explore "Using Technology within the 5 E Framework." As we start our first session, please click the Comment button and leave a message telling us something about yourself (you may need to create a Google or Blogger account first) - for example: What's your name? Where did you teach this past year? What grade level/subjects? What have been your experiences with using technology in the past? What do you hope to gain from this class? What are your plans for the summer?

I am a teacher at Kec Mayfield working with SEI middle school students. I want to be able to incorporate more math lessons through technology. I am married with three children and a very active life.
My name is John Lofquist. I am a teacher at Lincoln Developmental Center. I work with students that are SXI. I have had a computer for about 10 years. I hope to brush up on my computer skills in this class.
My name is Melanie McDonald. I teach Study Skills, Pre-Algebra/Algebra 1, and Computers to high school students at Northwest Career Pathways (the Old Pine). I hope to be able to incorporate more technology into my classroom using the 5-E framework so that I can effectively fit district guidelines (and be a more effective teacher). I have used Moodle for my computer classes, but would like to figure out how to use more technology in my math classes.
My name is Patricia McDaniels. If you met me and worked with me you would know me as Trish. If you are part of my family (9 brothers and 4 sister, their kids and spouses and extended families) then I'm Tricia or Tursh. If you met through my husband or his family you call me Pat. It is the unique way my life has departmentalized. Last year I taught for Shared Time. I teach computers in the parochial schools, grades 1-8. I love it! Last year I was at St. Jude School and St. Paul the Apostle. I won't know where I'm working next year until August. I have been using computers since about 1986. In 1988 I moved to Grand Rapids, was hired at GRPS, and have been here ever since teaching in the classroom or computer labs ever since and really loving my job. I tell everyone my job is the best job in the school. I came to this class to learn some new stuff and was excited to see Mr. Tec teaching because I knew I would. My plans for the summer are to enjoy myself, read, reconnect with my family, and organize my life a little more. My husband is supervising some home improvement so while he is a busy, busy guy I will be leasurely planning how to spend lots of money decorating and enjoying our new rooms. Hardly seems fair does it?
HI:
I hope to practice what I've learned so far. I need the reinforcement.
Bill
